Biography
Krisha Chaulagain, the visionary founder of KP Films, stands out as a dynamic force within the Nepali film industry. A multifaceted talent, she has excelled as a producer, director and presenter since the inception of her cinematic journey in 2062 BS.
Unlike many who aspire to be in front of the camera, Krisha was determined from an early age that her place was behind the scenes — making films rather than appearing in them. Over her career she has produced Nepali features including Insaf, Kasam Hajur Ko, Sushree and Palash, and the short film Aina.
In 2023 she made her directorial debut with the social-political drama Aincho-Paincho, and continues to direct with her latest film Pitamber. Her story is one of ambition, resilience, and a commitment to elevating the quality of Nepali cinema — recognised and nominated at national and international film festivals.
Behind the Scenes, By Choice
From the very beginning, Krisha chose the craft of filmmaking over the spotlight — producing, and now directing, socially conscious Nepali cinema that reaches audiences at home and abroad.
